Related bands

These bands are inspirations of what we want to be like.  For our video, we want to follow the typical codes and conventions seen in this video, but add our own look to it as well. We can see that in the video above, that in normal boy band videos there is usually a synchronized dance. This is something we have taken into consideration when looking for ideas about our video. Other typical conventions are when we see the look of the clothing. In these older type of videos, outfits followed the trend of fashion at the time. Looking at the clothes from now, they didn't look that great, but it still got the attention of the bands chosen target audience. We need to make sure that our target audience, will like the look of our style. This will help with the questionnaire, that we are currently giving out. Another factor that we are taking into consideration will be the style of our music video. When looking at previous boy band videos, for the most part they have a fun feel to them. But at the same time, they need to be serious in the way its presented, so that the band image is not questioned.




When we look at the video from Take That- It only takes a minute, this shows the serious, but fun feel that most previous music videos had. We can see a change in the style of videos from a couple of years with what happens in it. In this, typical conventions again would be the dancing in the scene. Its random with the fact that he's dancing around in a boxing ring. Although it seems random, it all means something. This is something we definitely need to get across in our music video. Another thing i have noticed in a lot of earlier boy band music videos, is that they have a fast paced/hectic like feel to them.
